INTERPOL’s Internship Programme welcomes candidates from any of our 196 member countries.
The Programme attracts talented students or recent graduates to the Organization and provides them with:

- A better understanding of the Organization’s goals and objectives and how international police cooperation is organized
- An insight into how an international organization operates
- A framework to enhance their educational experience through practical work assignments, thereby developing skills which are useful for their career and future employment
- Experience of working in a multicultural, multidisciplinary and multi-ethnic environment, contributing to the development of mutual understanding, trust and tolerance

As of 1 January 2025, the internship allowance is EUR 700 and a transport subsidy of EUR 30 per month. An additional housing subsidy of EUR 170 per month will be provided to eligible interns.  

Interns are required to be subscribed to a health insurance coverage for the entire duration of the internship. However, they are eligible to request enrolment in the Organization’s health insurance coverage at no additional cost.

PRIMARY DUTIES

The Staff Committee is the elected body that represents the Organization’s officials. It makes proposals to the Secretary General with a view to improving working conditions and appoints people to represent officials on each of the joint committees.

 

Under the conditions laid down in the Staff Regulations and Rules, the Committee is empowered to:

 

  • Represent the interests of the officials of the Organization before the Secretary General.
  • Make proposals with a view to improving the working conditions of the officials of the Organization.
  • Designate the persons who shall represent the officials of the Organization on each of the Joint Committees.
  • Participate in the organization of social activities for the benefit of the officials or, where appropriate, run certain such activities, and propose, if necessary, the establishment of other such activities.
  • Express its point of view to the Organization's governing bodies, through the Secretary General.

 

The Staff Committee is looking for an intern to provide support in different staff events and other daily CFO’s duties.

 

Throughout this internship the selected applicant will provide support to the Staff Committee and its activities by:

 

Helping the Committee in its administrative activities.

 

  • Administrating the CFO mail by addressing urgent requests and classifying different types of mails.
  • Helping the CFO to welcome the staff and addressing their needs.
  • Helping the CFO to classify the partnerships and maintain communication with them.
  • Taking minutes during CFO meetings.
  • Conducting surveys among the staff to understand better their needs and their expectations.

 

Helping the Committee to communicate about staff advantages.

 

  • Communicate about CFO activities and advantages through the internal channels available to the committee, working directly with the communication office (internal website, dashboards, etc.)
  • Communicate about CFO events.

 

Events Management. 

 

  • Supporting the staff in organizing different internal events and activities.
  • Giving ideas for new events.
  • Supporting in the elaboration of budgets for these events. 

 

Requirements

 

All candidates will be assessed on the basis of the under-mentioned requirements.

 

  • Be a national of one of INTERPOL’s 196-member countries.
  • Have attained the legal age of majority in their country of nationality.
  • Be willing to adapt to an international, multicultural, and multilingual environment; good communication skills; and ability to work in a team.

 

Training/Education

  • Be enrolled in, or have graduated from, a post-secondary accredited academic institution in Event Management or Communication in the last 12 months prior to application.

 

Languages

  • Excellent level of English and French are required.
  • Proficiency in any other INTERPOL official languages (Spanish or Arabic) will be an asset.

 

Specific skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.

 

In addition to the requirements, the following Assets and Special Aptitudes would be beneficial.

 

  • Experience within an international organization.
  • Experience organizing events.
  • Experience on budget management.
  • Experience working with external partners.
