INTRODUCTION OF THE POST
Within the Executive Directorate Partnerships and Planning (EDPP), the Communications Directorate (COM) leads and delivers all external and internal communications for INTERPOL, including media engagement, social media, design and print, websites and stakeholder engagement. Our focus is informing key stakeholders and audiences about the role of INTERPOL, its importance in the international security landscape and the value of transnational police and security cooperation.
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Director, COM, the postholder will develop and implement a comprehensive web and multimedia strategy that aligns with INTERPOL's overall communications and outreach objectives, highlighting the Organization's role and importance in the international security landscape.
The postholder is a key part of the communications team and will provide strategic leadership and oversight to the development of INTERPOL's brand and visual identity, as well as the management of the Organization's websites and publications.
The role comes with significant team and line management. Given the pace of change in communications and international organizations, the post holder will also be responsible for driving change management, particularly the shift towards greater digitalization and automation, and for identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement in the web and multimedia functions.
The postholder will ensure all activities in their area are proactively and strategically planned and delivered to a high standard.
PRIMARY DUTIES
DUTY 1 - Develop and Implement Web and Multimedia Strategy
• Define the Organization's web and multimedia vision and objectives, and develop a strategy to achieve them.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in the web and multimedia functions, and develop plans to implement them.
DUTY 2 - Lead Brand and Visual Identity Development
• Lead the development of INTERPOL's brand and visual identity, and ensure that it is consistently applied across all web and multimedia platforms.
• Develop and implement a brand and visual identity strategy that aligns with the Organization's overall communications objectives.
• Ensure that all web and multimedia products conform to the Organization's brand and visual identity guidelines.
DUTY 3 - Manage Website Development and Improvement
• Manage the development and improvement of the Organization's websites.
• Define the website development and improvement plan, in line with the Organization's overall goals and objectives.
• Ensure that the websites are user-friendly, accessible, and meet the needs of the Organization's stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in the websites, and develop plans to implement them.
DUTY 4 - Drive Digitalization and Automation
• Drive the shift towards greater digitalization and automation in the web and multimedia functions, and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
• Develop and implement a digitalization and automation strategy that aligns with the Organization's overall goals and objectives.
• Ensure that all web and multimedia products are optimized for digital channels, and that they are accessible and user-friendly.
DUTY 5 - Provide Strategic Leadership and Oversight
• Provide strategic leadership and oversight to the web and multimedia teams.
• Provide guidance and feedback to the web and multimedia teams, and ensure that they have the necessary skills and resources to deliver high-quality results.
• Ensure that the web and multimedia teams are working effectively and efficiently.
REQUIREMENTS

Education required
Five years’ education at a University or other specialized higher education establishment.
Experience required
At least eight years’ full time experience in managing communication teams in a large organization in an international context.
Languages
Fluency in English required. Proficiency in other official working languages of the Organization (in particular French, but also Arabic or Spanish) would be an additional asset.
Skills required
• Creative mindset to be able to discuss and propose concept to the technical experts of his/her team.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud software and multimedia production solutions.
• Knowledge of web content management.
• A practical understanding and technical knowledge of digital and print media.
