The Programme attracts talented students or recent graduates to the Organization and provides them with:

- A better understanding of the Organization’s goals and objectives and how international police cooperation is organized
- An insight into how an international organization operates
- A framework to enhance their educational experience through practical work assignments, thereby developing skills which are useful for their career and future employment
- Experience of working in a multicultural, multidisciplinary and multi-ethnic environment, contributing to the development of mutual understanding, trust and tolerance

Primary duties

Under the conditions laid down in the Staff Regulations and Rules, the Committee is empowered to:

 

  • represent the interests of the officials of the Organization before the Secretary General;
  • make proposals with a view to improving the working conditions of the officials of the Organization;
  • designate the members who shall represent the officials of the Organization on each of the Joint Committees;
  • participate in the organization of social activities for the benefit of the officials or, where appropriate, run certain such activities, and propose, if necessary, the establishment of other such activities;
  • express its point of view to the Organization’s governing bodies, through the Secretary General.

 

The Staff Committee Lyon (CFO) is currently seeking an intern to provide support for various staff events and actively engage in other daily CFO duties.

 

Throughout this internship, the selected candidate will provide support to the Staff Committee and its activities by:

 

Miscellaneous Tasks:

  • Overseeing the CFO's Email Inbox: Manage the CFO’s email communications by prioritizing urgent requests and effectively categorizing emails by CFO Member’s roles.
  • Staff Assistance: Assist the CFO in welcoming staff members and addressing their needs.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Support the CFO in identifying key partnerships and maintaining ongoing communication with stakeholders.
  • Meeting Administration: Organize the agenda and take minutes during CFO meetings.
  • Staff Surveys: Conduct surveys to understand staff needs and expectations.

 

Internal Communication:

  • Staff Communication: Assist the CFO in communicating staff benefits and promotions.
  • Internal Channels: Collaborate with the Communications Office to disseminate information about CFO activities and benefits through internal channels (e.g., internal website, dashboards, CFO board).
  • Event Announcements: Relay information to staff regarding CFO events.

 

Event Management Support:

  • Organizing Events: Assist the CFO in organizing various internal events and activities.
  • Event Planning Support: Provide creative ideas for new events and develop them.
  • Budget Management Support: Support the budget Manager and Treasurer to develop and manage budgets for these events.
 

Requirements

All candidates will be assessed on the under mentioned requirements

Requirements

  • Be a national of one of INTERPOL’s 196 member countries.
  • Have attained the legal age in the country of nationality.
  • Adaptable to an international, multicultural and multilingual environment; good communication skills; and ability to work in a team.

 

Training/Education required

  • Be enrolled in, or have graduated from, a post-secondary accredited academic institution, and having achieved in the last 12 months, or currently be working towards, a diploma in Event Management or Communications.

 

Languages

  • Professional fluency in English and French, written and oral, is required.
  • Additional languages are an asset, especially any other INTERPOL official languages (Spanish and Arabic).

 

Technical skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is essential.
  • Additionally, the following assets and special aptitudes would be beneficial:
    • Experience working in an international organization
    • Experience in organizing events
    • Experience developing and managing budgets
    • Experience working with external partners
