SUMMARY OF THE ASSIGNED DUTIES, INCLUDING GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POST
The holder of the post under the responsibility of the Head of Network and Datacentres department, is responsible of the smooth operation, maintenance and evolution of all network infrastructure of the Organization in accordance with established service levels agreements.
The network infrastructure concerned is the Headquarters, the Datacentres, the remote sites (Regional Bureaus and external Office), and I-24/7 network.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES
1 Primary duties
Duty 1: Daily smooth operation of networks services
- Monitors network traffic to identify problems and make capacity planning recommendations
- Maintains and updates the network and security infrastructure, tests and implements vendor security patches, implement workarounds for unpatched security vulnerabilities.
- Troubleshoots the network infrastructure, including IPBX’s, routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, proxy servers and make corrective actions when necessary.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.
- Could participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.
- Deal with any incidents on telecom networks, network devices (router, firewall, proxy, etc.), servers and computers.
- It may monitor and supervises subcontractors mandated to work on systems and networks.
Duty 2: Design and implementation of network services
- Manages projects for LAN, WAN and VoIP initiatives, plan technology roadmaps, configuration and optimization of all aspects of related network equipment and services.
- Supervises the installation, maintenance, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links.
- Assists with the planning, design, research, upgrade and acquisition of new hardware.
- Stay up to date with network technology on market place and state of the art of the domain. Recommends modifications as necessary.
- Propose to follow trainings accurate to his position.
Perform any other duties as required by the hierarchy.
QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
Education and qualification required:
- University degree in computer science, Engineering or equivalent field is preferred.
- Internationally recognized certifications in Network field.
Experience required:
- Minimum of 5 years professional experience on deployment, configuration, administration and troubleshooting enterprise LAN/WAN.
LANGUAGES:
- Professional English with a good command of at least another INTERPOL official languages.
Specific skills AND APTITUDES:
- IPSec VPN Tunnels
- Firewalling
- WAN links
- WAN Optimization
- Network Address Translation (NAT)
- IPV6
- Deployment, configuration, administration and troubleshooting of Cisco Switches and Routers
- Knowledge of Sniffer Traces and Interpretation
- Spanning Tree Protocol, VLAN, Trunks, Link aggregation
- Static routing and dynamic (EIGRP, OSPF, Basic BGP routing)
- Enterprise Wireless LAN Technologies
- Knowledge of Cisco VoIP technologies is desired
- Knowledge of F5 load-balancers is desired
- Cisco CCNP or CCIE certification is desired
