* This selection exercise will be used to generate a list of recommended candidates that will be used to address Organization's staffing needs in the future. If recommended and then offered a post, any potential subsequent extension to the initial duration will be subject to the terms of the Organization's Staff Manual, availability of funds, satisfactory performance and/or the return of th econcerned Staff Member to the post, if applicable.
Tests/interviews in connection to this selection procedure will take place approximately 2/3 weeks after the deadline for applications. Applicants are kindly requested to plan their availability during this period accordingly, in case they are short-listed.
Selected candidates will be expected to report for duty approximately two to three months after receiving an offer of employment at the latest.
SUMMARY OF THE ASSIGNED DUTIES, INCLUDING GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POST
The Infrastructure Architect ensures consistency and durability of all infrastructure resources, based on state of the art of current technologies of IT in alignment with the Information System Directorate strategy and governance.
He/She helps the Head of Department with organization of the tasks of each team, being a technical leader to fulfill all the missions of the Department and achieving roadmaps.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES
DUTY 1: Conception
The Infrastructure Architect defines the technical architecture of IT systems taking into account Business needs, performance, scalability, sustainability, flexibility, and transition and integration into the existing IT architecture. He assesses the requirements (new requirements or developments of existing ones) in terms of architecture; he puts forward possible solutions, documents the feasibility and the financial impact of the alternatives proposed and assists to find the solutions that best correspond to the strategy laid down in the Business Plan.
The Infrastructure Architect participates in defining the strategic and tactical lines of the Business Plan for infrastructure and the path for implementation.
The Infrastructure Architect drafts or validates tenders related to IT infrastructure. He also validates proposed technical solutions as part of a tender process. He/She contributes to drafting contracts related to IT infrastructure including SLAs.
DUTY 2: Administration
The Infrastructure Architect defines and supervises technical standards for administration and recommendations (tools, procedures, norms, vocabulary…).
He/she shall supervise complete and consistent documentation of the current and future infrastructure landscape.
DUTY 3: Advice and support
The Information Systems Architect assists others members of IT teams in their technology evaluations, technical designs, and technical implementations.
The Infrastructure Architect brings in innovation including proofs of concept to validate viability and adequacy of emerging technology. He/she also identifies technical training priorities for infrastructure teams.
He/she continuously works with “INTERPOL Engineering Office” to provide support for Software and Solution Architects working on new projects.
DUTY 4: Communication
The Information Systems Architect works with “INTERPOL Engineering Office” to anticipate needs and technical evolutions.
He/she ensures technical teams have relevant guidelines and processes do fulfill their tasks.
He/she provides them knowledge, guidelines and ensures technical leadership. This includes monitoring of standards, use of architecture patterns, tools and good practices.

QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
Education and qualification required:
- Three to four years’ education at a University or specialized higher education establishment.
- Other certifications including ITIL foundation are appreciated.
Experience required:
- At least 5 years of experience in a large and complex IT enterprise environment.
- Experience in Architecture Definition, including different technical domains:
- Multi-Datacenter Architecture, Cloud Computing, Network, Security, Web Services, Authentication, etc.
- Experience in Change Management.
- Additional specific experience might be required.
languages:
- Working knowledge of English is required. Fluency in English is highly desirable.
- Working knowledge of French is highly desirable.
- A third working language of the Organization (Arabic or Spanish) would be an additional asset.

- Multiple environments including Windows and Linux;

- SAN, NAS, Object and cloud storage, data backup/restoration, de-duplication;
- Windows Active Directory and other LDAP technologies;
- Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SharePoint in their latest versions;
- Mobile Device Management / Unified Endpoint Management Systems;
- Identity and Access Management and Web SSO solutions;
- Cloud computing, hybrid cloud configurations and private cloud;
- Demonstrated understanding of core Internet protocols and services.
