The purpose of this internship will be to assist the Portfolio Project Management Office (PPMO) in its activities, more specifically in the areas of accompanying projects through their life cycle, data management and donor relations.
The intern will work under the supervision of the Assistant Director or a Senior Project Portfolio Manager, PPMO, and assist to perform the following tasks:
- Support the work of the Portfolio Project Management Office
- Participate in internal meetings, and take minutes when required,
- Assist in coordinating the logistical side of the project management pool of INTERPOL,
- Assist the members of the team in their daily work as the need arises in order to get exposure to all aspects of project management cycle,
- Support the PPMO in activities related to the roll out and implementation of enterprise project portfolio management tool
- Data management
- To collate, process, store data on INTERPOL’s projects throughout the project lifecycle,
- To perform quality checks and ensure that information is constantly up to date and with high standards,
- To ensure that incoming requests/emails in the generic mailbox of the unit is traced and available through an efficient filing system. In particular, the incumbent will work with CINCOM, an internal library storing all the information on projects and with Outlook and Excel.
- Research and Analysis
- To assist in the analysis of project data and support the development of strategic analysis,
- To assist in performing research on project management issues,
- To assist in drafting internal policy/guidelines/SOPs papers on project management issues.
- Organization of project management training/workshops
- Assist to organize project management workshops and training events for the attention of INTERPOL’s project management community
- Perform other duties as required

Requirements
- Be a national of one of INTERPOL’s 196 member countries.
- Have attained the legal age in the country of nationality.
Training / Education required
- Be enrolled in a, or have graduated from, a postsecondary accredited academic institution within the past one year on the date of submission of their application in at least one of the following field: Business Administration, Business Management, Project Management, Social or Political Science, or International Administration/Relations.
- Masters’ degree (or equivalent) would be a strong asset.
Languages
- Fluency in English
- A good command of French and/or other official working language (Arabic or Spanish) would be an asset.
Technical skills
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) is essential.
- Knowledge of MS project or business intelligence tools would be an asset
