*This selection exercise will be used to generate a list of recommended candidates that will be used to address Organization's staffing needs in the future. INTRODUCTION OF POST


The Information Technology (IT) Project Manager handles IT projects from project initiation to Go-Live. He/She aims at achieving an optimum result compliant with the requirements as regards to Quality (incl. performance and security), Time, Costs and Risks.

 

 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES


DUTY 1: Coordinating and mobilizing the project teams

 

  • He/She mobilizes the contributors to the projects (business team, IS team and external partners)
  • He/She supervises and coordinates, within each project, all actions assigned to internal IS teams, external consultants or contractors
  • He/She ensures the team shares common objectives, aligned with the Project
  • He/She ensures that the project methodology chosen is applied (Scrum by default)

 

DUTY 2: Managing scope, budget, planning and risks

 

  • He/She defines and follows up the project plan, deliverables, budget and risk register
  • He/She tracks deviation and lead the team in identifying remediation and optimization opportunities
  • He/She supervises all aspects of the execution phase including the production of key project documentation and deliverables (incl. product documentation such as architecture, hardware and software)

 

DUTY 3: Governance and Ceremonies
 

  • He/She organizes and leads the relevant project governance and ceremonies
  • He/She provides regular progress status reports to his/her hierarchy and key project stakeholders (e.g. Business owners, external sponsors, etc.)
  • He/She manages escalation and present options
  • He/She uses the Project Management tools and methodologies supported by the Directorate / Organization.

 

DUTY 4: Sourcing
 

  • He/She participates in procurement process when relevant, including bids evaluations and presenting results to the Procurement Committee
  • He/She is responsible for IT aspects execution of the contract with the selected bidder

 

DUTY 5: Transition to product

 

  • He/She ensures proper acceptance testing (functional, security, performance…) and supervises regular service and system availability during hypercare.
  • He/She is responsible for checking all pre-requisites / conditions are met to trigger Go-Live and is responsible for ensuring all required training materials, awareness sessions and support documentation are provided.
  • He/She ensures IT Product Manager interface

 

DUTY 6: Perform any other duties as required by the Supervisor.

 

REQUIREMENTS

Training/Education required

  • Three-to-four years’ education at a university or other specialized higher education establishment, within the field of Information Technology or engineering.

 

Experience required

  • Experience of at least 3 years in the field of IT Project Management, ideally within an international environment and using Scrum Methodology

 

Languages

  • Fluency in English
  • Proficiency in a second official working language of the Organization (Arabic, French or Spanish) would be an additional asset.

 

Specific skills required

  • A relevant Project Management Certification (preferably Scrum) would be an asset
  • Strong communication skills, both in written and oral form (public speaking and delivery of presentations).

WORKING CONDITIONS

 

  • Remuneration for appointment on contract: Salary scales of all duty stations of INTERPOL can be found at https://www.interpol.int/What-you-can-do/Careers/Vacancies. The starting point is step 1 and one additional step will be granted for every 3 years of fully relevant experience. The salary scales of INTERPOL’s officials are adjusted at least once per year (more under exceptional circumstances) on the basis of the methodology used for the calculation of the Purchase Power Parity (PPP).
  • The successful candidate may be offered appointment on a higher step depending upon professional background and experience.   • The incumbent may occasionally be required to work occasional overtime based upon workload and to go on missions.
