Primary duties

 

Throughout this internship the selected applicant will contribute to the activities of the Ethics and Corporate responsibility (ECR) Sub-directorate headed by the Chief Ethics Officer. The ECR is part of the Office of Internal Oversight (OIO) composed of several other units such as investigations, audit, etc. The selected applicant will be under the supervision of the Chief Ethics Officer, (Assistant-Director OIO) and will be:

 

  • Conducting research: may be responsible for researching ethical and corporate responsibility issues relevant to the Organization's operations and activities, as well as best practices for addressing these issues, including reviewing academic literature, case law, and policy documents.
  • Drafting policy documents:  may assist in drafting policy documents related to ethical conduct or corporate responsibility, such as codes of conduct and guidelines for reporting ethical concerns.
  • Assisting with training and outreach:  may help develop and deliver training programs on ethics and compliance topics, and may also assist with outreach efforts to promote ethical conduct throughout the organization.
  • Reviewing and assessing ethical concerns:  may be responsible for reviewing and assessing reports of ethical concerns or violations, and may assist in developing recommendations for addressing these issues.
  • Participating in and/or preparing meetings and committees:  may be invited to help with the organization of meetings of to attend meetings and committees related to ethics and compliance, and may be expected to contribute to discussions and provide input on relevant issues.
  • Supporting day-to-day operations:  may provide general support to the ethics office, such as helping to maintain records, responding to inquiries from staff members, and assisting with other administrative tasks.

 

Working on different on-going projects, the selected applicant will:

  • Develop knowledge in ethical matters and the corporate responsibility framework in an international organization;
  • Develop skills in analyzing and writing notes on ethical matters.

 

Requirements

All candidates will be assessed on the under mentioned requirements

 

Requirements

  • Be a national of one of INTERPOL’s 196 member countries.
  • Have attained the legal in the country of nationality.

 

Training / Education required

  • Be enrolled in a, or have graduated in, a master  degree within the past one year on the date of submission of their application in a relevant field of study related with Law, International Law, Ethics, Corporate responsibility, Social sciences, Human resources, Public administration and any related field.

 

Languages

  • Professional fluency in English is required.
  • Professional fluency in French would be an asset.
  • A good command of any other INTERPOL official language (Arabic or Spanish) would be an asset.

Technical skills

  • Enhanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools is required, in particular: PowerPoint, Excel (figures, and formulas), and Word.
