SUMMARY OF THE ASSIGNED DUTIES,
INCLUDING GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE POST
Within the Office of Internal Oversight, and reporting to the Head of Internal Audit and Risk Management, the Coordinator, Risk Management and Resiliency is responsible for coordinating the organization’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) process, advising senior management on risk and controls management. The incumbent ensures that the Organization has appropriate, up-to-date and regularly tested Crisis Management, Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP).
MAIN DUTIES AND ACTIVITIES
Under the direction of the Head of Internal Audit and Risk Management, the main tasks of the post holder are:
- ERM process coordinator: monitor and coordinate the organization’s ERM; maintain overview and update of the organizational risk registers.
- Risk champion: analyze and advise on risk management and related decision-making.
- Resiliency Program manager: define, develop and regularly test the organization’s Crisis Management, Business Continuity (BCP) and Disaster Recovery plans (DRP).
DUTY 1: ERM process coordinator
- Coordinate the final steps of the rollout of the organization’s ERM;
- Ensure the continuous quality review of the ERM programme, e.g. framework, methodology, templates, manual of procedures, etc.;
- Manage the deployment, implementation and continuous update of the organization’s risk management tool;
- Monitor and coordinate the updates of the organizational risk registers, on a regular, agreed basis;
- Advise risk owners in designing and developing risk management controls and mitigation measures;
- Coordinate where necessary with the Internal Audit team and other relevant departments for the testing of specific risks and controls;
- Provide regular reporting to senior levels on the organization’s ERM aspects.
DUTY 2: Risk Management champion
- Collaborate with senior management to define and update the organization’s risk appetite;
- Provide guidance and support to drive continuous improvement in risk management practices throughout the organization;
- Monitor global trends, regulatory developments, and emerging risks to assess their potential impact on the organization’s risk profile and advise on appropriate mitigation strategies;
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders in order to integrate risk management principles into business processes and decision-making;
- Conduct regular risk assessments, stress tests, and scenario analysis to evaluate the organization’s resilience to various conditions and potential disruptions;
- Prepare and present risk reports, analyses, and recommendations to senior management in order to facilitate informed decision-making and strategic planning.
DUTY 3: Resiliency Program manager
The post holder is responsible for defining, developing and regularly testing the organization’s Crisis Management, Business Continuity (BCP) and Disaster Recovery plans (DRP):
- Develop and maintain standards and procedures for the organizational Crisis Management, Business Continuity (BCP) and Disaster Recovery (DRP);
- Conduct Business Impact Analyses (BIAs) to identify critical business processes and dependencies.
- Design robust Crisis Management, Business Continuity (BCP) and Disaster Recovery plans (DRP);
- Coordinate and integrate the organization’s Crisis Management, Business Continuity (BCP) and Disaster Recovery plans (DRP) in a synchronized manner, with the various departments and units of the organization;
- Ensure regular updates of the different plans as the organization evolves (e.g. new sites, new business units, changing organization structures, etc.);
- Prepare testing schedules and plans to provide the scope, frequency and responsibilities for testing the organization’s Crisis Management, Business Continuity (BCP) and Disaster Recovery plans (DRP);
- Coordinate with the relevant units in order to test the organization’s Crisis Management, Business Continuity (BCP) and Disaster Recovery plans (DRP);
- Conduct ad-hoc tests as required;
- Document the tests conducted, gaps identified, improvement recommendations, and follow-up with the relevant parties.
DUTY 4: Ad-hoc duties
- Perform any other relevant duties as required by the hierarchy.
QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS
Education and qualification required :
- Three to four years’ completed university degree in business / organizational management is required; An advanced university degree would be an asset.
- A professional Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) qualification / certification (e.g. Level 5 - International Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management by the Institute of Risk Management (IRM), etc.) would be a strong asset.
- A professional certification in Crisis Management / Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery would be a strong asset.
Experience required :
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience in Enterprise Risk Management, ideally in an international organization;
- Minimum 2-3 years of working experience in Crisis Management or Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery;
- Proven practical knowledge of the relevant ERM and BCP standards and best practices;
- Experience in scheduling and conducting Business Impact Assessment (BIA) with different sub directorates/ functions.
- Proven advanced computer skills in MS Office and of advanced practical knowledge of risk management software;
- Proven experience demonstrating: high attention to detail; excellent analytical skills; independent, critical judgement; ability to propose relevant and practical recommendations; meeting deadlines in an effective and efficient manner.
- International experience / experience of working for an international, police, military, security or other public sector organization would be an additional asset.

- Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
- Proficiency in one or more official working languages of the Organization (French, Spanish, Arabic) would be an asset.
Abilities required :
- Business acumen and strong communication skills, both in written and oral form (public speaking, delivery of presentations, influencing decision makers etc.);
- Detailed knowledge of risk management, crisis management, business continuity and disaster recovery management;
- Sound judgment, the ability to draw accurate and appropriate conclusions and suggest a pragmatic course of action;

- Strong transversal management skills.
