INTRODUCTION OF THE POST

Within the Executive Directorate Partnerships and Planning, the Communications Directorate leads and delivers all external and internal communications for INTERPOL, including media engagement, social media, design and print, websites and stakeholder engagement. Our focus is informing key stakeholders and audiences about the role of INTERPOL, its importance in the international security landscape and the value of transnational police and security cooperation. The directorate is made up of five teams: 1) Corporate and internal communications, 2) Press and Media relations, 3) Campaigns and advocacy 4) Creative design, print and planning, and 5) Social media.
 

As a member of the Creative design, print and planning team, under the direct supervision of the Art Manager, the post holder will create, design and produce various multilingual communication materials for social media, the websites, events and projects. The post holder will be required to be able to create/edit a range of visuals and multimedia content, including videos, animations, images and graphics. The postholder is highly creative with forward and solution-driven thinking. He/She has excellent technical skills to translate their ideas and creativity into polished visual products.

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES

DUTY 1: Design/create/edit multimedia communications materials

  • Create visual products after an initial briefing, according to the communication objectives, and visual strategy, taking into account the target audiences. These productions include the full process including e.g. concept, styling, storyboarding, editing, designing, etc as applicable.
  • Propose innovative and engaging ideas for graphic products for the projects
  • Advice the client and explains his/her graphic choices
  • Create and lay out the material in English, bearing in mind the future production in other languages
  • Be expected to control the quality of his/her production all along the process from the creation to the delivery
  • Deliver the product in the best format required for the client to be published in different digital platforms (websites, apps, social media, police application and database…) and/or printed
  • Indicate technical specifications for the different publications platforms
  • Liaise the production/publication of the material with INTERPOL entities or external companies concerned.

 

DUTY 2: Conference and event materials

  • Uses his/her initiative and ideas, according to the scale of the event and the visual identity of the Organisation, to create the design of event material (e.g. venue decoration, exhibition stands, visuals, backdrops, presentations, posters, etc)
  • Produce digital material i.e. video/animation in relation to the event
  • Be expected to control the technical quality of his/her production
  • Liaise the production of the material with external companies and other INTERPOL entities concerned, all along the process from the creation to the installation
  • Manage the COM stock of popup/stands, check the quality after and before event

 

DUTY 3: Video editing and video asset management

  • Edit generated content into a final multimedia products,
  • Create b-roll, collections and other ready to use assets for the Video Assets,
  • Store, categorize the raw and edited materials and ensures its appropriate indexing and availability.
  • Propose and edit video with existing assets and adding motion graphics.
  • Film and edit interviews, statements and general view shots, if required for the project.

 

DUTY 4: Other Tasks

  • Liaise/work with external production companies and other entities when required.
  • Carry out any other related activities according to the evolving needs of COM and of the Organization.
  • Perform any other duties as required by the hierarchy.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, COMPENTENCIES, AND SKILLS

 

EDUCATION: 

  • Two years’ University education or equivalent additional experience in Multimedia/Motion/graphic design or a related field.

 

EXPERIENCE:

  • Three years’ experience in the field of multimedia production.
  • Five years’ experience in the field of multimedia production if they do not have the required level of education.
  • A portfolio primarily demonstrating a variety of examples of multimedia materials, motion design, graphic design and photo and video production is required.

 

LANGUAGES:

  • Fluency in English.
  • Proficiency in a second official working language of the Organization (Arabic, French or Spanish) would be an additional asset.

 

ABILITIES AND APTITUDES

TECHNICAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Creative mindset and able to convert ideas and written content into clear visual and graphic language to produce multimedia material.
  • Expert level in motion design and video editing (Adobe or Apple suite).
  • Expert level in graphic design (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Practical understanding and high technical knowledge of graphic design, video formats, framerates, codecs, etc.
  • Good technical understanding of social media platforms.
  • Creativity and experience in photo and video shooting.
